Food Highlight in Peine: A Sweet Stop at Lokito
Sometimes it doesn’t have to be a big trip - some beautiful discoveries can often be made right on your doorstep! With lovely spring weather, we decided on a day trip in the nearby area. Our destination was a spot that had been on our personal bucket list for a long time: Lokito in Peine.
From TikTok straight to our Bucket List
We admit it: We’re “victims” of food videos on TikTok! We love saving any food spots. You too? Lokito has come across our path several times. The colourful plates with the delicious churros looked so tempting in the clips that we knew: We have to go there. We love sweets anyway. Now it was finally time.
“Good Vibes Only”: A Shop with Heart
As soon as we entered the shop, we were received very warmly. The atmosphere is modern, clean and yet incredibly cosy. You can tell immediately that a lot of love has been put into the details and the furnishings. An absolute eye-catcher is the green plant wall with the glowing “Good Vibes Only” neon sign. It immediately puts you in a good mood! Especially the comfortable hanging chair invites you to let your soul dangle for a moment while you wait for your sweet treat.
The Lokito Check: Since we were there for the first time, it was explained to us directly how everything works. The principle is simple: You take a piece of paper on which you can tick off what your heart desires. Whether Lokma (Turkish dough balls) or churros (Spanish, deep-fried pastry). You choose your own combination of sauces (from Nutella to pistachio), toppings and fillings.
Almost perfect. With caramel sauce it would have been dangerously good.
Presentation is everything
When our order was served, we were speechless. The presentation was simply outstanding! Each portion looked like a small work of art on a black plate, crowned with the striking “Lokito Sweets” flag.
Our Taste Verdict
The Churros: For our taste, they were a tiny bit too crispy (we personally prefer them a bit softer), but the incredibly delicious topping more than made up for it! The mix of the fruity strawberry sauce, the fresh banana slices and the cookies/brownies was simply divine.
The Lokmas: Were a hit! They were filled with milk chocolate and hidden under a proper portion of vanilla ice cream, strawberry topping, brownie pieces and a few bananas.
The Fruit Plate: We ordered that extra - a great supplement that provided a nice freshness.
Lokito - more than just “Eating Out”
Lokito is more than just “eating out” - it’s an experience. If you are near Peine and feel like something sweet, prepared with a lot of love, you should definitely stop by. The friendly nature of the team, the simple ordering and the stylish interior made our day trip perfect. Maybe we’ll come back and try another combination next time!
