Grilled Salmon on Orange - Perfect for social evenings
Marinated, very tender salmon fillet from the grill. Perfect for social evenings out and at home.
Ingredients
- 3 oranges
- 2 tablespoons oil (for the grill grate)
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 teaspoons hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid honey
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1.5 kg salmon (whole piece, with skin)
Instructions
- Wash the oranges and slice them.
- Brush the grill grate with oil. Preheat the grill.
- For the marinade, mix all ingredients until well combined. It should be a rather thick marinade. If it’s too liquid, simply add a bit more hoisin sauce or honey.
- Distribute the orange slices on the grill. Place the salmon on top with the skin side down. Brush with the marinade and close the lid.
- Cook at medium heat for about 30 minutes (for 1.5kg salmon). When white liquid appears on top of the salmon, it should be done. Simply taste a small piece from the edge to check.
- Afterward, keep the salmon warm with the lid closed and the heat at its lowest setting, or turn off the grill completely.
Tips
- Make sure your grill has a lid, as this is important for cooking the salmon properly.
- The orange slices give the salmon a subtle flavor and prevent it from sticking to the grill.
- This dish is perfect for summer barbecue evenings (even without caravan).
