Obelink CA-3000 - Mobile Split Air Conditioning Unit
Since 2025, we have a mobile split air conditioning unit, the Obelink CA-3000. The advantage of a mobile air conditioning unit is that it doesn't count toward the caravan's permissible gross weight. The air conditioning unit is simply hung in the window and is immediately ready for use.
Every now and then there are hot days - so hot that it becomes uncomfortable or even unbearable in the caravan. Depending on the weather, temperatures of 35-40 °C are possible inside, especially when the sun continuously shines on the caravan. That’s simply too hot - you have to escape.
A fixed air conditioning system is comparatively expensive and would significantly reduce the permissible payload. When it comes to payload, we’re somewhat cautious with our current caravan.
Information About the Obelink CA-3000 (Split Air Conditioning Unit)
With 2,800 BTU cooling capacity, the Obelink CA-3000* can cool rooms up to 25 m³. With a power consumption of just 390 watts, it delivers a cooling capacity of 820 watts. This is practical, as electricity on campsites is often comparatively expensive (at least in Germany, not rarely €0.75/kWh). Together with the built-in temperature control, the device is very efficient and only cools when needed.
The Obelink CA-3000 can cool, ventilate, and dehumidify. So if it’s a muggy day, you can simply reduce the humidity. When the air is still, you can activate the fan. The device is therefore versatile.
The 48 dB noise level is perceived in two ways: The indoor unit sounds like any other fan/blower; the outdoor unit produces a dull humming and causes a slight vibration in the caravan. You get used to both quite quickly.

Our Opinion on the Obelink CA-3000 Split Air Conditioning Unit
We are mostly satisfied with our purchase. The installation can be done relatively quickly. After switching on, the Obelink CA-3000* cools our caravan sufficiently so that we can use the interior even in strong sunlight. As soon as the desired temperature is reached, the air conditioning goes into standby and activates itself again as soon as it gets too warm.
However, we also had a day with 37 °C, blue sky, and strong sun. Even when the air conditioning ran continuously, it was still quite warm in the caravan.
With our caravan, it’s somewhat unfortunate that one bench seat is blocked by the indoor unit. This is due to the position of our windows. We knew this in advance, but it has proven challenging in practice - especially when both bench seats need to be used, it’s hot, and the air conditioning must run. Air circulation is also restricted as a result.
The control panel is not very intuitive, and therefore we installed the app after the first attempts. With it, everything can be configured quite easily, even remotely (via the internet). The app also offers more functions than the control panel. With a bit of practice, the necessary settings can of course also be set directly on the air conditioning unit via the buttons.
